Dr. Monique Henderson is no stranger to change and transformation. She’s worked as a news reporter, an educator, and now as a business-owning educator. Some transitions have come from shifts in the workforce, while others reflect changes in her own form and purpose. She and her husband, Matt, run their business — and household — together while parenting two young adult children who are navigating their own growth in a rapidly changing world.

Before becoming an education entrepreneur, Monique worked as an award-winning news reporter and co-authored two books about education and leadership — leveraging her storytelling skills to amplify voices, uncover truths, and spark positive change.

With over 20 years in education, from classroom teacher to state education consultant, Monique has dedicated her career to English Learners across Mississippi, California, and Texas. She authored 31 Things Your English Learners Want You to Know: Lessons from the Classroom, sharing insights and empathy learned from teaching EL, migrant, and homeless students. As a former Director of Special Populations at the Mississippi Department of Education and consultant for over 65 districts, Monique has supported teachers, principals, and leaders in rural and high-density EL contexts alike. She delivers customized coaching, PD workshops, and technical assistance — all crafted to elevate English Learner instruction.
